The Boy Taylor – Landlord Clone
Homebrew clone of the classic English Pale Ale Timothy Taylor’s Landlord
Ingredients
malts
- 4250g Thomas Fawcett – Golden Promise Pale Ale Malt
- 50g Crisp Pale Wheat Malt
- 30g Crisp Black Malt
hops
- 30g East Kent Goldings pellets
- 70g Celecia pellets
yeast
- 12g NBS Ale Yeast
Batch #1 Method
- Boil 13L water
- 2165g grist
Mash
- 90min between 63-68C. Mainly 63C mark
- Sparged with 1.5L water
- Mashout 75C
Additions
- 90 min – 15g EKG and 15g Celieia
- 10 min – 10g Celieia
- 0 min – 10g Celieia
Ferment
Had to add water to bring SG down. about 3L since was around 1.070. Batch is about 13L.

18/12/20 – 1.010
4.73% ABV
Batch #2 Method
- Boil 13L water
- 2184g grist
Mash
- 90min between 65-67C. Mainly 66C mark
- Sparged with 1.5L water
- Mashout 75C
Additions
- 90 min – 15g EKG and 15g Celieia
- 10 min – 10g Celieia
- 0 min – 7g EKG and 19g Celieia
Ferment
Had to add water to bring SG down. Topped up previous batch. End result is about 23L combined.
03/12/20 – 1.045 OG
18/12/20 – 1.010 – Mixed jugs
18/12/20 – 1.011 – Pure jug
4.46% ABV
Carbonated with 1 teaspoon of brewers sugar per L
